We'll check your filter and replace it if necessary to fix this issue. Transmission Fluid Leak As we've seen, transmission fluid performs many essential functions in the transmission. As time passes, transmission seals can dry up and crack, and the fluid can leak out. Fortunately, a transmission fluid leak is easy to identify as it will form a puddle of red, sweet-smelling liquid under your car.  As fluid leaks out, your transmission will become less responsive and will make strange noises. We don't advise driving if you have a transmission leak, as a lack of fluid can cause serious damage to the transmission. You may hear increased sounds from the engine, and your RPM will read higher than it should in the new gear. The delay will increase with time, and it can lead to damaged gears or other transmission problems. Fortunately, the most common cause of this situation is a lack of transmission fluid. Hybrid/Electric Unique Components Warranty If your vehicle is a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, it has an advanced electrical drivetrain system. This system includes many unique components, like a battery energy control module and a battery energy control module. These specialized components are protected for eight years or 100,000 miles. Your high-voltage battery is also covered by this warranty with one exception. The high-voltage battery will slowly lose storage capacity over time. This is a naturally occurring process in any battery and is not considered as a defect covered by warranty. Safety Restraint Coverage Your seatbelts, airbags, and all parts of their activation systems are protected against defects for five years or 60,000 miles. Corrosion Warranty Corrosion can rapidly cause massive damage to unprotected metal. Your Ford has specialized protective coatings applied during the construction process to protect all its metal sections against corrosion. If corrosion appears despite this protection, the affected metal section will be replaced at no charge. Corrosion protection applies for five years and unlimited mileage.
